Joel Perez is a Librarian Trainee providing Teen and New Adult services for the Blossom Trail cluster. His major interests are literature, psychology, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, gardening, cinema, and meditation/mindfulness. In addition, he's always willing to help with reading, writing, and research.
Hi, I'm Brittany. I am the Teen and New Adult Services Coordinator here for the Fresno County Public Library. That means I plan programs for teens and new adults across Fresno County. Things like our summer program, Summer at the Library where we have fun activities for teens over the summer and teens can read books to earn prizes. Another countywide teen program would be Project Keyword: Prom where we collect new and used prom outfits and then throw a giveaway event for high school teens. Our first year doing it, we were able to give away over 150 dresses and suits to teens! If you are a teen and you've got a great idea to share, let me know, I'm here to listen.
Random facts about me... I graduated with my BA from UC Santa Cruz, go banana slugs! And I received my Masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I love to go SCUBA diving, ask me about the time I dove in open sea black water, it was a unique and frightening experience. I love board games, I have my own board game library with over 200 board games!

Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m the Teen and Young Adult Services Librarian for the Sierra Gateway cluster which includes Clovis, Betty Rodriguez, Auberry, Shaver Lake, and Big Creek. I grew up in Firebaugh and went to CSU Monterey for my Bachelors in Human Communication. I earned my Masters in Information and Library Science from San Jose State. I love to read manga and fantasy novels, play RPG video games (currently playing Final Fantasy Online), and binge watch Korean Dramas and anime. My favorite anime include Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Naruto (Shippuden), and Fruits Basket. My top 3 favorite authors are Cassandra Clare, J.L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas. Hi, I’m Rebecca, and I am the Teen and New Adult Services Librarian. That means I help with program planning for countywide projects. I’ve worked at a lot of different branches in other positions, before getting promoted to a librarian. I got my Masters in Information and Library Science from Valdosta State University.
I love being active. I’d rather be hiking or swimming than pretty much anything else. I also enjoy lifting weights and running. And I love spending time with my dogs and adding to my tattoo collection. My favorite author is Stephen King, but I’ll pretty much read anything.
I’m also a proud OG Swiftie.

Teen and New Adult Services Librarian
It all began when Thomas started volunteering for Fresno County Public Library’s Reedley branch in 2010. Volunteering at the Library was an amazing experience, but when Thomas heard about a job opening for Library Assistant the following year, he practically leapt at the opportunity. From there, he’s had the privilege of serving local Library-goers in a variety of different capacities.
Currently, Thomas is part of the behind-the-scenes team of staff that orders new books and media for the Library’s many branches. He spends much of his work time selecting titles that will help meet the recreational and informational needs of the community, and his main areas of focus are teen and kids’ books, graphic novels and manga, eBooks, and video games. He suspects that this might actually be the best of all possible jobs.
When he’s not at work or writing autobiographical blurbs about himself in the third person, Thomas is (and this might fall somewhere in the region of complete shock, or maybe absolute shock) pretty big into reading! He usually gravitates toward fantasy, sci fi, comics, and Stephen King, but he’ll read just about anything. A few of his recent YA favorites include Joe Abercrombie’s Half the World and Ryan North and Erica Henderson’s run on The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

I got my bachelor's degree in Accounting from San Francisco State University and am currently pursuing a master's degree in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. Matt is a Librarian Trainee serving Central, West Fresno, and Mosqueda. On his free time, Matt likes playing tabletop games, running, hiking, reading, and cycling. Matt grew up going to Fresno County libraries, and loves spreading the many joys that libraries have to offer.
