Hi, my name is Tiffiny! I am a Fresno native, and I got my start as a library aide at the Clovis library over 23 years ago. I worked my way up to becoming a library assistant, and just recently I earned my 3rd Master’s Degree in Library Science in order to become the new Teen Librarian of the Cotton Fields Cluster for the Fresno County Library. (My other two degrees are in Education and English.)
I have spent the last 10 years as an English Instructor for various junior colleges throughout the Valley. I have also taught high school junior and seniors, encouraging them along the way in their academic ventures. During my time as an English Instructor, I realized that the library was calling me back, and now here I am at my dream job! With English being part of my background, I am eager to help young and new adults with any kinds of writing (resumes, cover letters, letters of application for college, etc.).
Some fun facts about me:
1. I LOVE games shows! In fact, I was on Let’s Make a Deal for my birthday this last summer. I got to meet Wayne Brady and win a little bit of money in the process!
2. I love to cook and bake, which means I also love to watch cooking shows. The Great British Bake Off is one of my favorites.
3. I don’t like Oreo cookies.
4. I’ve never watched any of the Star Wars movies.
5. I can tell a good dad-er, um, mom joke.
My goal as a Young Adult Librarian is to serve my community. If you need help in anyway (a listening ear, a book to recommend, homework help), I’m here for you. I have a passion for helping people achieve their goals by giving them the tools to do so. If I don’t have an answer, I will find one for you.
