The Soria family of Bicho Raro, Colorado can perform miracles, making peoples’ inner darkness visible to them so that they can learn to conquer it. Each member of the Soria family has been warned that if a Soria provides help beyond performing this miracle, their own darkness will manifest - and a saint's darkness is dark, indeed. When saint Daniel Soria, violates this taboo, his cousins Beatriz and Joaquin, along with the pilgrims, must drive off the darkness.
